In 2003, AT&T realized over $150 million in benefits in one year alone for its work at home or teleworking program(s). And each year more and more employees become work at home employees for AT&T.

In 2006, Cisco Sytems, Inc. reported that it had garnered more than $277 million in productivity savings by letting employees work from home using the company’s own virtual office technology.

In 2007, Sun Micro-system's Open Work program prevented an estimated 29,000 metric tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere while saving the company nearly $68 million in real estate costs.

In 2009, Georgia will become the first state to offer tax credits to companies that allow employee's to telecommute.  The Georgia Telework Tax Credit offers a company $20,000 for planning, training and/or labor costs in setting up a telework program.  It also offers an additional $1200 per new teleworker created in 2009 to help offset the cost of equipment like computers, software and maintenance.

    • Questionnaires are completed by each employee and include information on home office space evaluation (size, setup, equipment), and family situation (partners, roommates, spouses, children, dogs, family routines and proposed working hours).
    • Personal Coaching on designing and maximizing office space for safety and efficiency. VIP executives may receive personal in-home assistance with office design and set-up. Others would receive virtual assistance via webcam and one-on-one teleconferencing.
    • Personal Coaching on designing a time management schedule for work/life balance, and establishing personal boundaries with family members.
